Lacroix

I just love this photo. It's Christian Lacroix SS 09 at the Audi Fashion Festival in Singapore.

Gorgeous! Check out more coverage here: [1], [2], [3].

The tights look like some that I ran across on River Island a while ago.

Follow Queen of Mayhem

follow me <3

in progress...

So although I'm staying in Pittsburgh to take classes and hopefully research, I've been FINALLY flexing my creativity a bit outside of the realm of class.

Spring semester I took a Costume Design class and found it to be creative, but quite directed.

So I trucked my sewing machine, paints and canvas down from NY so I could get onto my personal creative endeavours.

This is a current work in progress. It's a little bit smaller than 3' x 3'. Enjoy.

(Sorry for the bad picture quality... I lost my camera charger and had to use my laptop).

I'll probably post some art from my HS days some time soon.

blog roll!

Check out the blogs glitterpills, and sequin magazine (second photo).

get itgetit, chachaCHA.

People seemed to LOVE this outfit that was posted on the Sartorialist this past week... SO, I decided to scrounge up some similar styles for you guys. ;)

crown of dasies

The "Tulips and Pansies" runway show (May 14th) gave florists a chance to un-spool their giddiest fantasies...

Fashion designers and florists, 17 duos in total, teamed up for the eighth annual VCNY event where there was more coming down the catwalk to look at than just a pretty dress.

Each florist worked with a clothing designer to come up with an extravagantly decorative headpiece that models adorned, complementing the runway look.

Talk about a spring awakening!

the good, the bad & the UGLY

Jeremy Scott, FW RTW 2009. Where did I find this photo? NY Magazine's top 100 looks. What is going on? Let's review...

Good: Motorcycle jackets ARE back, and have been back, for like, 3 years now, so that's okay.

Bad: But why, why, WHY is it lime green? Okay, I know that the Spice Girls tried to make a come back, and that Sporty Spice wore lime green and black like it was her job, (yes, I fell victim to that), but it was the 90s.

This is just bad. On top of this, it looks like the jacket was made out of green pleather. Ew?

Ugly: The short little black skirt makes her look like a Sporty Spice gone bad girl hooker.

Someone needs to stop this trend before it catches on!!

PS: What type of bag is she carrying? It's terrible too.

this galaxy's more fun than we previously expected

katya ford

Katya Ford takes ordinary fashion photography and photoshops them into something maybe a little bit more organic, raw, universal... Who knows.

Just enjoy the eye candy and be sure to check her out on flickr.

harlequin...

Pixie Market has this most adorable dress by Phamous on sale for $60. Looks like it could be dressed up for spring with bright colours or tights and played down for fall with more muted colours... hmmm... tempting...

Mood Lighting

Everyone loves a little bit of mood lighting. titiMadam's home collection has some pretty bangin' acrylic candelabras and candle sticks. Sweet. They're contemporary, see through (except for the white, I think), and yest totally "old fashioned" enought to spice up anyone's evening.

I'd LOVE to see these with some tea light candles in them. ;) The candelabra is £25, and the two sticks start at £15. You can mix and match the sizes of the candle sticks. Get them here, but also be sure to check out titiMadam for tons of other cool acrylic and cutout jewlery and home decor.

Z Gallerie is stepping it up. You can score these totally romantic (and classical) candelabre and sconce set for 70 bucks, total. The candelabre sports crystals. Pretty cool. Get them here.

Cool or Clunky?

There is something oddly alluring about these clunky clog-like hybrid sandals (especially the silver ones).

These shoes are based on the disco era shoes of the late 70's.

They're hand-made in Sweden with genuine natural grained leather and a lime-tree wooden sole, and did I mention, they come in a bunch of rockable colours.

By the way, where can I score myself a pair of those elastic scrunched skinny jeans in the last photo?

Find the shoes here, along with a bunch of other styles.

CK fresh

That that coveted CK runway model look from Sephora for only $39

There's hot pink lipstick. There's deep blue nail polish. There's silver creme shadow. There's liquid nectarine blush. And then there's you, with summer makeup that's not expensive, not garish, not melting, and not bad for the price.

Cute Hoot to Boot

"Small Cutie Hootie my what BIG green eyes you have..."

For $32 you can nab this super cute hoot. It's hand made out of sterling silver.

Esty has done good, again!

Get it here.

J.Crew Crazy

So I knew that J. Crew shoppers could get a little obsessive about the whole J. Crew feel, look, store, cute little accessories, super soft shirts...

Ok, so maybe they have a right, but this morning is stumbled upon a whole blog devoted to the soul purpose of worshiping, discussing, and sharing discounts from J. Crew. Wow.

So if you're that sort of girl, or want to score some sweet discounts/have lovely discourse with other J. Crewies, then make your way over to J. Crew Aficionado.

Oh by the way, the blogs colours are even reminiscent of the stores.

MIA & Creepy Crawlers

No, not the singer.

I've been MIA because it's going to be finals week on Monday! So, because that I've had less time to dig around and find cool things for you all.

But have no fear, because when I come back, I'm going to post some of my own designs!
(As well as some pretty kick ass stuff I've been scraping up from the internet).

Anyway, here are come creepy crawlers for you all.

Flow + Warner's current project, the "Beacon" series, involves a cheeky take on the natural world—by using fake bugs! Hoards of 'em crawl up the lamp bases designed by Kartell, Phillippe Starck, Martin Baas, and others, and swarm towards the bulbs.
